Written primarily by Paco and Chad, Carry This Burden came together near the tail end of the writing sessions for Swallowing The Pill but just didn't make the cut. This version was multi-track recorded in our rehearsal space and engineered/mixed by Dave on his own portable recorder. The bridge section (which starts around 2:20) may sound familiar as it ended up being taken from this song and used as the bridge in Killing Me instead. It was pretty common place at that point for us to be mixing and matching parts even between completely different songs to try and fine the perfect arrangement.

lyrics
you keep on spitting on my face
you pull me in with your deceiving smile's embrace
tired of looking through you
i'll find myself if you find you
they say free will its your voice
they say free will its choice
what must i do?
pick up a cross and carry this burden for you?
set myself on fire? repent all desire?
and carry this burden for you?
you keep running away. run.
what must i do?
pick up a cross and carry this burden for you?
am i coming clear? am i anywhere near to lighting
this match inside you?
is this all you know? how far would you go?
to carry this burden.
what must i do?
pick up a cross and carry this burden for you?
set myself on fire? repent all desire?
and carry this burden for you?
what must i do?
pick up a cross and carry this burden for you?
is this all you know? how far would you go?
i'll carry this burden. i'll carry this burden.
