Originally released on 2005’s Swallowing The Pill (Brando Records), Blue & Grey started out as a stripped down song, encompassing only vocals and piano. Shortly after the album’s release the band revisited the track enhancing it with additional instrumentation and re-mixing it into its current form. Produced by David Castell, the song features a brilliantly played piano track by the late Carter Albrecht, and a mix of chellos by local musician Sara Donaldson.

lyrics
collected all these words
to paint this picture for you
and try to get you to see
these words might have no worth
unless you understand that
this picture wants to be free
and I've spent all this time
in a world that chooses victims for a faceless crime
that just adds to the statistics of the hurt not seen
you never see me when I'm blue, blue, blue and grey
there's not a day gone by
that I don't see this picture
reveal itself in my head
but everyday I try
to prove to you I'm alive
though parts of me might be dead
and I've spent all this life
I'll carry the burden of a beaten wife
raped and bruised and battered by the hurt not seen
you've got to be strong and proud
don't let the loss of dignity get you down
you're more then just the flower in the field he found
silence can't overcome with a truth so loud
